Patrick Semesky, MGC, CGC
Patrick Semesky is a board-certified genetic counselor at the Center for Advanced Fetal Care at The University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Virginia in 2014. Following graduation, he worked for a year as a patient service coordinator at the Johns Hopkins Listening Center before applying for graduate school. In 2017, he earned a Master’s in Genetic Counseling degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore, where he studied patient perspectives of expanded carrier screening.
Since graduation, Patrick has worked in prenatal genetics at the Center for Advanced Fetal Care at the University of Maryland Medical Center, as well as other contracted positions at The Center for Advanced Fetal Care at Mercy Medical Center, the Institute for Maternal Fetal Medicine at Sinai Hospital, and The Perinatal Diagnostic Center at Capital Region Health. Patrick enjoys his roles as an instructor for the University of Maryland School of Medicine and as a clinical rotation supervisor for both the University of Maryland Master’s in Genetic Counseling Training Program and the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health and National Human Genome Research Institute Genetic Counseling Program. Patrick is an active member of MDCGC and is the former chair of the membership committee.
