THE MDCGC hosts annual business & educational meetings for genetic counselors across Maryland and Washington DC. Additionally, members may be interested in attending other educational events as well as social networking events. Specialty-specific meeting and workshops for students may also be organized.

Specialty specific forums

To facilitate communication in our area, genetic counselors may join specialty-specific email lists where they can ask relevant questions and contribute to the knowledge of their colleagues. 

You will automatically be added to any specialty listserv that you selected when registering for MDCGC. Looking to join a new specialty listserv? Please reach out to the administrators for the listservs by emailing info@mdcgc.org with your request.

Licensure

The number of states granting licensure to genetic counselors is continually increasing, and the MDCGC supports and promotes the passing of genetic counseling licensure legislation in Maryland and DC.
