Rachel Gore Moses, ScM, CGC
Rachel Gore Moses is a board certified genetic counselor with the Centralized Sequencing Program at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at the NIH. Rachel graduated from Clark University in Worcester, MA in 2013 with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. She then earned her Masters of Science degree in Genetic Counseling in 2018 from the Johns Hopkins University/National Human Genome Research Institute Genetic Counseling Training Program where her research focused on assessing and identifying areas for improvement in the informed consent process for exome sequencing. In 2018 she joined the faculty of the University of Maryland as an Instructor in the Department of Pediatrics. Here her clinical interests included general pediatric genetics, as well as oncology genetic counseling for adults. She was also actively involved in the UMD Genetic Counseling Training Program through lecturing, thesis committee membership and clinical supervision.
Rachel’s current work at the NIH focuses on providing genome sequencing to patients with immune disorders as well as those with psychiatric disorders being followed by the National Institute of Mental Health. Her research interests include understanding the psychosocial outcomes of psychiatric genetic counseling and testing. Rachel is also involved in NSGC as a member of the Research, Quality and Outcomes Committee. She has been active in MDCGC since 2018, serving as the 2019 Co-Chair and 2020 Chair of the Membership Committee, as well as the 2021 Secretary.
