Ashlee Vargason, MGC, CGC

Ashlee is a board certified genetic counselor at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) in Bethesda, MD in support of Henry M. Jackson for the Advancement of Military Medicine.  She received her Master’s in Genetic Counseling from the University of Maryland Genetic Counseling training program in Baltimore, MD in 2019 and her Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences (with minors in Psychology and Microbiology) from Mississippi State University in 2017. 

Ashlee is currently a full-time cancer genetic counselor at WRNMMC and her primary role is to provide telegenetics services to different military bases across the United States and internationally.  In addition, she provides educational lectures to clinics throughout the military health system and Uniformed Services University.  She is a member of the Department of Defense (DoD) Women’s Working Group and Breast Cancer Genetic Counseling and Testing Working Group in partnership with the VA and currently sits on the Breast Program Leadership Committee at WRNMMC.  Ashlee is also an active member of NSGC and the MDCGC Membership committee.
