To celebrate genetic counselor awareness day, the MDCGC is hosting two education seminars for prospective genetic counseling students. See below for information on the sessions we are offering. This is a free virtual seminar, however registration is required to receive Zoom link.

Thursday November 10, 2022

9-11 am EST: Informational interviews with genetic counselors

This session is most appropriate for students who are familiar with and interested in the career of genetic counseling already and are looking for opportunities to have open ended time to connect with a variety of practicing genetic counselors in differently specialties. Participants should come prepared with questions for the participating genetic counselors.

2-4 pm EST: Interactive Educational Seminar

This session will be a series of interactive small group activities designed to give participants a better idea of the types of tasks genetic counselors would be doing in their career. We will also cover basic information about the profession and information about applying to genetic counseling graduate school in this session.
